DV and Wildcard DV certificates are typically issued within 5 minutes of completing the domain validation step. EV certificates require manual business verification and take 1–5 business days depending on how quickly you can provide the required documents.
A Wildcard SSL certificate (*.yourdomain.com) covers your root domain plus all first-level subdomains such as mail.yourdomain.com, shop.yourdomain.com, etc. If you run multiple services on subdomains, a Wildcard is more cost-effective than buying separate certificates for each.
